A CALL TO ORDER
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZERS
Senior Move Specialist Senior Move Coordination
  • Job Description Reports To Project Coordinator Position Type Part-time, 20-25+ hours / week
  • Project-based
  • W2 through AdvanStaff HR Service Line Senior Move Coordination Works With A Project Coordinator and at least one other Specialist — Specialists always work in pairs or larger teams Position Overview The Senior Move Specialist is the hands-on heart of every senior move.
Working in a pair or small team under a Project Coordinator, you do the physical and emotional work in the home—sorting, packing, labeling, and setting up the client's new space—while helping aging adults and their families through one of life's hardest transitions with patience and dignity. This is a single, clear field role that brings together what ACTO previously split across separate assistant and specialist titles. Who We Are A Call to Order
  • Professional Organizers has guided seniors, families, and busy professionals through life's most significant transitions since 2008.
We are a Certified Professional Organizer, Certified Senior Move Coordinator, and Home Modification company serving Southern Colorado and clients statewide. Our work is built on dignity, calm, and a unified team approach—we bring order and peace to downsizing, relocation, estate clearing, and home organization, and we hold ourselves to a standard of care that families remember long after a project ends. Our Core Values Honesty
  • Integrity
  • Trustworthiness
  • Compassion
  • Professionalism
  • Transparency
  • Solutions-Focused
  • Reliability
  • Communication We hire, train, and evaluate against these values.
If they don't resonate with you, this is not the right role — and that's okay. Key Responsibilities Sorting, Packing & the Move Execute the Project Coordinator's plan on site, working your assigned zones of the home. Sort belongings using ACTO's 12-label color-coded system and the Disposition Pathway — Gift, Sell, Donate, Responsibly Dispose — always non-judgmentally. Pack, number, and label boxes with high accuracy so clients and families can find what matters. Help reduce household contents by 60-70% where the project plan calls for it. Contain and stage donation, sale, and disposal items for scheduled pickup. Honor the end-of-session label lock — no changes once a session has closed. Client-Centered Care Work alongside seniors and families who may be grieving, anxious, or in conflict, offering calm and steady reassurance. Handle every personal item as though it matters — because to the client, it does. Keep the project moving on schedule without ever making the client feel rushed. Communicate respectfully with clients, families, and POAs, and bring any concerns to the Project Coordinator promptly. Setup & Team Standards Set up safe, functional, and comforting spaces in the client's new home. Keep all work areas clear and hazard-free, protecting the client, the team, and the property. Follow ACTO's standard operating procedures for packing, labeling, safety, and client care. Maintain strict confidentiality about everything you see in a client's home. Arrive early, prepared, and in ACTO-standard dress, and represent the company with honesty and integrity. Who Thrives in This Role You've helped a parent or grandparent downsize, and you understand the emotional weight of it. You like physical, purposeful work, and you take pride in doing it carefully. You're the calm one when things get emotional. You're solutions-focused, low-drama, and you believe being on time means being early. This Role Is Not a Fit If You need a fixed weekly schedule. Physical work — lifting, stairs, being on your feet all day — isn't for you. Emotionally heavy environments drain you rather than call you in. Qualifications Required Physical ability to perform the work (see Physical Requirements & Safety). Strong interpersonal skills — you can be present with people in hard moments. Attention to detail in labeling, inventory, and the careful handling of belongings. Basic comfort with phones and apps for time tracking and team communication. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Experience in caregiving, senior support, moving, or professional organizing. Experience with seniors, estates, or complex moves — a plus, not a must. Physical Requirements & Safety This is a medium-duty position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation. Lift and carry up to 35 pounds unassisted. Team-lift anything heavier; never move furniture or large, awkward, or unstable items alone — decline, and arrange a team lift or outside labor. Climb stairs, often repeatedly, while carrying materials; bend, kneel, reach, and stand intermittently for up to 8 hours per day. Walk an estimated 5,000-10,000 steps per shift. Work in variable home environments, including attics, garages, basements, and tight spaces, with possible exposure to dust, pets, odors, and temperature extremes. Use personal protective equipment — provided by ACTO — as conditions require, including dust masks, safety glasses, and work gloves. Report all injuries immediately to the Project Coordinator on duty so that care can be coordinated through the AdvanStaff HR Workers' Compensation panel. Work Environment Work is performed in client homes and, for relocation projects, in new living environments including private residences and senior living communities. Conditions vary from home to home — every space, household, and family is different. Schedule, Compensation & Logistics This is a part-time position, typically 20-25+ hours per week, with a clear path to additional hours and advancement. You are a W2 employee of A Call to Order through AdvanStaff HR, our professional employer organization, which administers payroll. Compensation starts at $18.00 per hour, depending on experience. Scheduling is project-driven and varies week to week — this is not a fixed, nine-to-five role. Work takes place in client homes across Southern Colorado, with occasional statewide travel. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. How This Role Grows The Senior Move Specialist role is the proven path toward Project Coordinator.
ACTO promotes from within:
Specialists who consistently own their work, follow the process, and demonstrate sound judgment and leadership with clients and teammates are developed toward coordination roles. Equal Opportunity & Scope A Call to Order
