Overview TRC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated PMO Director to lead and transform the PMO back-office operations supporting the Intelligent Grid Solutions (IGS) segment. This role is accountable for end-to-end PMO processes spanning Sales through project execution, ensuring strong alignment across Sales, Finance, Delivery, and Leadership. The PMO Director will focus on process design, financial governance, reporting, and operational efficiency, enabling consistent, transparent visibility into portfolio health. The ideal candidate will drive PMO transformation, simplifying and standardizing workflows, improving financial and operational reporting, and enhancing decision-making through better data and governance. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities PMO Process Ownership & Transformation Own and redesign PMO processes across the full lifecycle: Sales → Project Setup → Execution Support → Financial Close Identify inefficiencies and "declutter" existing back-office procedures to improve clarity, speed, and scalability Establish standardized, repeatable PMO frameworks, templates, and workflows Partner with Sales, Delivery, Finance, and Leadership to ensure alignment and adoption of improved processes Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and consistency Financial Governance & Performance Management Lead portfolio-wide financial oversight, including: Estimates at Completion (EACs) Revenue and margin forecasting Variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) Cash flow tracking Partner closely with TRC Finance to ensure alignment with corporate financial policies and reporting standards Improve financial transparency and predictability across the IGS portfolio Develop standardized financial reporting structures and controls Portfolio Visibility & Reporting Establish and maintain robust reporting frameworks to provide clear visibility into: Financial performance Schedule status Risks and issues Overall project health Oversee development of dashboards, reports, and data models to support executive decision-making Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all reporting outputs PMO Team Leadership Lead and develop a distributed PMO team, including: Project Analysts Offshore PMO support resources Reporting and tools specialists (e.g., SharePoint, dashboards) Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for PMO staff Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment focused on accountability and quality Ensure effective utilization of resources and alignment to business priorities Tools, Systems & Data Enablement Oversee PMO tools and platforms, including reporting systems and collaboration environments (e.g., SharePoint) Drive enhancements to improve automation, usability, and data accessibility Enable integrated reporting across systems to support real-time portfolio insights Partner with IT and business stakeholders to evolve PMO technology capabilities
Qualifications Required:
10+ years of experience in PMO leadership, operations, and project portfolio governance Proven success in: PMO process transformation and optimization Financial governance (EACs, forecasting, variance analysis) Portfolio-level reporting and performance management Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Delivery, and Executive Leadership Experience managing teams of 10+ resources, including offshore teams Strong understanding of PMBOK principles and PMO best practices Exceptional analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills Excellent communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders from executive leadership to technical teams Advanced proficiency in: Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, reporting) PowerPoint and Word MS Project or equivalent tools Preferred Experience with utility OT systems and platforms: SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS, GIS, AMI/MDM, DERMS PMP
