About the Role As a Field Site Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), you will lead the successful execution of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects from initial planning through final construction. You will serve as the primary onsite authority, ensuring that complex engineering designs are implemented safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Direct the end-to-end construction lifecycle for BESS installations, ensuring mechanical and electrical systems meet rigorous design specifications. Optimize project outcomes by applying value engineering principles to site routing and infrastructure development. Manage the performance of EPC contractors and subcontractors, ensuring strict adherence to QA/QC protocols and safety mandates. Facilitate seamless communication between cross-functional teams including legal, environmental, and land development departments to maintain permitting compliance. Conduct comprehensive site assessments to validate routing assumptions and mitigate potential construction risks. Oversee daily field operations, coordinating effectively between vendors, inspectors, and project partners to keep schedules on track. Analyze project budgets and cost drivers to ensure financial targets are met without compromising project quality. Qualifications Required Skills 6-10 years of professional experience in the technical or financial management of large-scale construction projects. 3+ years of direct experience in contractor oversight and field-based construction management. Demonstrated background in power generation, utility infrastructure, or energy sector projects. Proficiency in evaluating routing criteria, including cost, engineering constraints, and environmental impact. Preferred Skills Proven ability to perform complex trade-off analyses and support siting decisions under conditions of uncertainty. Expertise in route optimization methodologies and value engineering concepts. Strong leadership capabilities in communicating technical constraints and mitigation strategies to senior stakeholders.
