Position Summary AI Engineers is seeking an experienced Office Engineer to support transportation and infrastructure construction projects throughout the Connecticut area. The Office Engineer will support the Resident Engineer and construction management staff with project administration, document control, contractor coordination, reporting, and contract administration activities on active construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, transportation construction experience, and the ability to manage high volumes of documentation and coordination in a fast-paced project environment. This position may require work in field offices and active construction sites throughout Connecticut based on project assignments. Responsibilities Support the Resident Engineer and project management staff with daily construction administration activities Manage and maintain project documentation. Track contractor submissions and maintain accurate project logs and records Coordinate document reviews between contractors, consultants, client agencies, and internal project teams Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, project reports, and construction documentation Assist with construction progress tracking and schedule monitoring Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract requirements Support project closeout and turnover documentation Maintain electronic filing systems in accordance with project procedures and agency requirements Coordinate with inspectors, Resident Engineers, contractors, and client representatives regarding project documentation and field activities Support invoice review, quantity verification, and contract administration processes. Utilize project management and document control systems to organize and track project information Assist with coordination of project correspondence and responses between project stakeholders Maintain professionalism and effective communication in high-pressure construction environments Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related construction/engineering field required Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction management, transportation infrastructure, or heavy civil/public works projects required Prior experience serving as an Office Engineer on CTDOT, NYSDOT, MTA, Metro-North, Amtrak, or similar transportation/public agency projects strongly preferred Strong understanding of construction administration, document control procedures, and contract management practices Experience supporting Resident Engineers and construction management teams on active infrastructure projects Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Experience with Compass and AWP software preferred. Experience utilizing electronic document management and project management systems preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams Ability to maintain accurate and organized records in fast-paced construction environments Must be willing and able to work throughout the Connecticut area, including field offices and active construction sites as required by project assignments Valid driver's license required.
