Assistant Project Manager Job Description A growing commercial construction firm is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of ground-up and renovation projects across Connecticut. This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution from preconstruction through closeout. Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and change order management. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and contracts. Help maintain project schedules and track milestones. Participate in project meetings and maintain communication logs. Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance and constructability. Assist with procurement and buyout of subcontractor scopes. Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies. Support closeout processes including punch lists, O&M manuals, and final documentation. Essential Skills 0-2 years of experience in construction management. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management (preferred). Strong understanding of construction documents, processes, and project lifecycle. Experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Proficiency with MS Office and construction management software (Autodesk, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.). Strong communication and organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of RFI and submittal processes. Experience in gathering information for change orders. General contracting experience. Work Environment The position is based onsite five days a week at the Hartford office. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
