The role combines strategic leadership, client relationship management, and hands-on project oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is adept at managing complex schedules, budgets, and construction teams, and is comfortable acting as the primary client and stakeholder contact while mentoring project managers and driving continuous improvement across the project portfolio. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of multiple commercial and multi-family construction projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with client goals, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Act as the primary client and stakeholder liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships, proactively managing expectations, and resolving issues to sustain client satisfaction and repeat business. Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasting; lead value engineering efforts and approve change orders in coordination with finance and estimators. Oversee project scheduling and coordination across design, procurement, permitting, and construction phases; identify and mitigate schedule risks to meet milestone commitments. Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, including Project Managers, superintendents, and subcontractors; enforce safety, quality, and compliance standards in the field. Implement and improve project controls, reporting, and documentation processes; deliver accurate, timely progress reports and executive summaries to senior leadership and clients. Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve constructability issues, facilitate design reviews, and support shop drawing and submittal processes. Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and vendors; monitor subcontractor performance and manage claims or disputes as needed. Drive recruitment, onboarding, and development of project staff; cultivate a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Champion safety and regulatory compliance across projects, leading risk assessments and ensuring adherence to company and industry standards. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field; advanced degree or PMP certification preferred. Minimum 10 years of progressive construction experience with at least 5 years in a Senior Project Manager or Project Executive capacity on commercial and multi-family projects. Proven track record managing complex construction projects within the commercial construction sector, with experience in multi-family developments and preferred experience in higher education or K12 education projects. Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract negotiation skills. Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience mentoring Project Managers and leading cross-functional teams. Proven ability to manage client relationships at executive levels and to represent the company in business development and client retention activities. Expert knowledge of construction methods, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), and project control systems; proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Aconex, or similar) is preferred. Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate project risks, resolve disputes, and manage claims effectively. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on delivering clear, concise executive reporting. Commitment to safety and quality with familiarity with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
