Duties Help Job Summary:
The Office of the Chief Administrive Officer (CAO) provides operions support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organizion comprises more than 800 technical and administrive staff working in a variety of areas, including informion technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrive counsel. This position is loced in the Immedie Office, House Recording Studio (HRS), Office of the Chief Administrive Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representives (House). The purpose of the House Recording Studio is to provide live broadcast coverage of House proceedings, livestream coverage of Committee hearings, and full-service television and radio studios to Members of Congress. This position serves as Project Manager. Key responsibilities include managing designed projects to support the audiovisual design and installion aspects of rooms integral to House Recording Studio operions throughout the campus, with an eye toward modernizion and innovion of the existing hybrid IP-SDI infrastructure. Incumbent will collabore closely with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful deliverables, including but not limited to the Program Manager, Principal Engineer, HRS management, CAO procurement specialists, institutional partners, and vendors. Incumbent will routinely define scope, identify and mitige risks, and develop actionable timelines to ensure th audiovisual installions and renovions are performed efficiently and within designed budgets. Limited travel and flexible work schedule including occasional weekends and le nights are required for this position. Schedule may fluctue on a biweekly basis to accommode the service needs of the House. Grade level time of appointment is determined by experience and designed level of responsibility. This position does not have day-to day supervisory/managerial responsibilities. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Meet routinely with project sponsors, Program Manager, and other key stakeholders to discuss, prioritize, and upde projects. Conduct preliminary project assessments to develop objectives, identify scope, and determine requirements. Develop and integre project timelines, incorporing specified HRS scope into overarching schedules. Assign tasks and deadlines with deference to priority level and in full considerion of lead times, partner contributions, staffing levels, and locions. Identify and document task dependencies and exercise collaborive communicion with all stakeholders to ensure th plausible timelines are established and adhered to. Routinely track progression of project tasks, upde sponsors and stakeholders on progress, and add new tasks as they arise, upding the schedule as needed. Identify and assess risks th may have a negive impact on project objectives; develop a risk response to either mitige, prevent, or accept; and continually review, evalue, and report on potential issues. Conduct kickoff meetings, stus reporting, project team meetings, and documention throughout the project lifecycle. Clearly communice with approprie level of detail, adapting language to the targeted audience; and clearly calling out any action needed as progressing through the project. Close out all projects by ensuring all requirements have been completed, documenting any operional activities necessary to maintain the outcome, determining if new customer requests should be incorpored or added as a new project, and ghering and documenting lessons learned. Collabore and communice with HRS Engineers and Technicians to plan and facilite system commissioning and decommissioning as approprie. Research, review, and recommend innovive solutions to meet service needs, improve performance, and modernize operions. Maintain and seek to enhance customer experience; and maintain positive, respectful communicion with customers and coworkers all times. Collabore with Director of Engineering and Program Manager to maintain a general awareness of HRS equipment and system lifecycles and plan proactively to initie reled projects as assigned. Continually nurture insight into industry trends and seek professional development to keep pace with evolving technologies. Perform miscellaneous clerical and administrive tasks as needed. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience performing construction administrion. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience providing project management support. Preferred Qualificions:
Bachelor's degree in Program Management, Project Management, Business Management, or reled field preferred. Project Management Professional certificion preferred. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSA) and Competency Requirements:
Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and practices. Knowledge of network audio, network video, IP-based systems, and associed protocols. Knowledge of broadcast engineering and television industry standards. Skill in adjusting communicion style to audience, conveying action items clearly, and maintaining consistent updes. Skill in identifying interdependencies among project tasks and coordining across teams to maintain schedule integrity. Skill in developing timelines, assigning tasks, determining requirements, and incorporing scope into overarching project schedules. Skill in identifying risks, evaluing impact, and developing response stregies. Skill in handling clerical tasks, documention, and general operional support. Skill in establishing effective working relionships with colleagues, junior staff, senior staff, operions personnel, and other stakeholders in service of the House of Representives. Skill in adapting to dynamic hybrid environments with varying architecture. Skill in maintaining excellent communicion, collaborion, and customer service. Ability to prioritize effectively in environments with shifting demands, multiple stakeholders, and varying lead times. Ability to build and maintain collaborive relionships with project sponsors, program managers, engineers, technicians, and customers. Ability to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and best practices. Ability to adapt to the service needs of the House as they arise. Ability to cree, write, read, and comprehend schemics, technical drawings, and manuals. Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu. Ability to cree and manage a Microsoft Project. Ability to establish and maintain administrive and quality control processes. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential mters with tact, as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
