About the Company Our client is a growing General Contractor specializing in retail, restaurant, and commercial interior construction projects throughout South Florida. With a strong pipeline of repeat clients and nationally recognized brands, they deliver high-quality renovations, tenant improvements, fit-outs, and ground-up projects across the region. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of multiple projects while gaining exposure to full project lifecycle management. About the Role The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and field teams to coordinate and manage retail and restaurant construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key project management functions while also assisting with site inspections, subcontractor coordination, scope development, scheduling, and client communication. Responsibilities Assist in managing multiple retail and restaurant construction projects simultaneously Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance Develop, review, and coordinate subcontractor scopes of work Support project scheduling and monitor project milestones Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers throughout project execution Assist with subcontractor buyout and procurement activities Track project budgets, commitments, and change orders Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, and project documentation Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors Monitor construction progress and identify potential scheduling or cost impacts Assist with punch lists, project turnover, and closeout documentation Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company quality standards Qualifications 2+ years of experience in construction project management, project engineering, or assistant project management Experience within retail, restaurant, commercial interiors, tenant improvement, or commercial construction preferred Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents Ability to conduct site walks and communicate effectively with field personnel Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software preferred Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout South Florida Preferred Skills Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field Experience working for a General Contractor Exposure to fast-track commercial construction projects Knowledge of South Florida permitting and inspection processes Pay range and compensation package Competitive base salary Performance-based bonus opportunities Health benefits PTO and paid holidays Career progression into Project Manager roles Exposure to nationally recognized retail and restaurant brands Stable pipeline of projects throughout South Florida Equal Opportunity Statement If you're looking to join a growing contractor and take the next step in your construction management career, we'd love to hear from you.
