Company Summary:
Corrocoat USA is the US division of Corrocoat Ltd, based in Leeds, U.K. Corrocoat specializes in the manufacture and / or turnkey application of corrosion resistant protective coatings used to mitigate and prevent corrosion of valuable assets that are critical to reliable operation of heavy industry. The primary market sectors for Corrocoat USA are Power Generation, Pulp and Paper, Oil and Gas, Specialty Chemical, Wastewater and Infrastructure. Approximately 70% of the work is executed in the within 150 miles of Jacksonville, Florida. The remainder of the work is focused in the Southeastern US and the territory also includes the remainder of North America.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Assistant Project Manager to oversee and manage industrial coating and painting projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining safety and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to coordinate between clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
Assist in coordination, organization and tracking resources
  • required to execute multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Resources include labor, coating materials, blasting media, small tools, rental equipment, labor, consumables, transportation and more.
Assist in project planning, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Define and redefine project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
Financial Management:
Prepare cost estimates and write quotes as needed to assist the project management and estimating team. Collect, input and manage the job cost data for multiple projects simultaneously.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
Write and update work orders and prepare job books consistent with specifications and project requirements.
Scheduling and Progress:
write schedules using Microsoft Project, assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure accountability across the team. Communicate with superintendents, project managers and customers. Monitor daily progress, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. Willingness to work with the crew as needed to lead projects.
Execution and Quality Control:
Quality Assurance Support:
Oversee site quality tracking, verify compliance with
NACE/AMPP
specifications, and compile final closeout turnover packages.
Site Safety:
Assist the Superintendent in enforcing site-specific safety plans, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance protocols Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and specifications. Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in construction management and related field experience. If no Bachelor's degree, minimum 10 years' experience leading construction teams and minimum 5 years' experience leading teams for an industrial coatings / marine coatings operation, comfortability with MS Office Suite, strong written and verbal communication. Experience working in construction, preferably in industrial painting or coatings.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of industrial coatings, surface preparation techniques, and application methods. Proficient in project management software and tools. Proficient using the Microsoft Word, Excell and Outlook. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. High emotional intelligence, good with people Certifications (Preferred): Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Relevant
AMPP / NACE
training.
Work Conditions:
Work in both office and field environments. Travel to project sites as needed, with occasional overnight stays. Willingness to travel throughout North America as needed to support project goals.
