per hour Job Responsibilities In this role, you will independently manage multiple utility-scale solar projects through the Early-Stage Development process, ensuring successful project readiness prior to turnover to the Construction team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading multiple solar energy projects through development, permitting, engineering coordination, budgeting, and pre-construction activities. Managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Analyzing technical, financial, and market data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and optimization strategies. Developing technically feasible, commercially viable, financially sound, and schedule-driven project execution plans. Supporting project permitting efforts and coordinating with internal subject matter experts, consultants, regulatory agencies, and local stakeholders. Negotiating and administering commercial agreements, contracts, and vendor relationships. Managing project capital budgets, forecasts, approvals, and cost controls. Facilitating engineering activities and ensuring constructability and readiness for construction execution. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts across the Early-Stage Development team. Communicating project status, risks, and performance metrics to executive leadership and project stakeholders. Essential Duties and Job Functions Take ownership of assigned solar projects from development through construction handoff. Manage project schedules, milestones, critical path activities, and project deliverables. Develop and maintain project capital budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting. Analyze project technical and financial performance data to support decision-making. Coordinate engineering, environmental, permitting, land, procurement, and construction planning activities. Support permitting activities and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and local jurisdictions. Develop construction execution plans and support project readiness assessments. Evaluate project constructability and identify potential design, schedule, or cost impacts. Participate in site walkdowns, field assessments, and project reviews as necessary. Monitor contractor and vendor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements. Review contractor invoices, payment applications, and project expenditures. Coordinate activities with suppliers, contractors, utility companies, landowners, and community stakeholders. Interface with project management committees and executive leadership teams. Resolve technical, commercial, scheduling, and permitting issues as they arise. Track project progress and prepare status reports, presentations, and performance updates. Reinforce company expectations regarding safety, compliance, quality, and operational excellence. Support implementation of lessons learned, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge & Skills Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with limited supervision. Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control capabilities. Knowledge of utility-scale solar development, engineering, permitting, and construction processes. Understanding of project scheduling tools and critical path methodologies. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Strong contract management and negotiation skills. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external organizations. Experience interpreting technical drawings, engineering documents, and project specifications. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and reporting tools. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. Understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and construction best practices. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or related field. 2-7+ years of experience in renewable energy, utility, construction, engineering, project management, or infrastructure development preferred. Experience supporting utility-scale solar, energy, power generation, transmission, or large capital projects strongly preferred. Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and stakeholder management preferred. PMP Certification or equivalent project management credentials are a plus. Knowledge of renewable energy markets, utility interconnection processes, and regulatory requirements is desirable. ...
