Survey Department Lead As the Survey Department Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing surveying team while overseeing projects from initial client engagement through final deliverables. This leadership role combines operational management, technical oversight, business development, and team mentorship within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You'll work closely with clients, guide project execution, and leverage advanced geospatial technologies to deliver accurate, high-quality surveying solutions. Responsibilities Manage daily land surveying operations and ensure successful project execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing exceptional service. Prepare project proposals, budgets, contracts, and invoices. Oversee and coordinate the work of multiple survey crews and technical staff. Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of survey projects and deliverables. Drive business development efforts by expanding relationships with existing clients and identifying new opportunities. Collaborate across surveying and geospatial disciplines, including LiDAR, laser scanning, mobile mapping, GPS, rail surveys, and conventional surveying services. Mentor and develop survey professionals, fostering technical growth and leadership within the team. Qualifications Professional Land Surveyor (PLS/PSM) license required. 10+ years of progressive land surveying experience, including project management and team leadership responsibilities. Proven ability to develop new business, maintain client relationships, and generate revenue. Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS, and geospatial surveying practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and client management skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in industry-standard surveying equipment, software, and geospatial technologies.
