Full-TimePosition OverviewA top-tier national general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager•Federal Construction to lead the execution of large, complex federal construction projects. The initial assignment will be based in Panama City, Florida, with expectations to transition to additional federal projects in other U.S. locations upon completion.
This role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional with demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects for federal agencies while working within structured, performance-driven environments typical of major construction firms.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide full life-cycle leadership of federal construction projects from preconstruction through closeoutServe as the primary point of contact with federal clients, contracting officers, inspectors, designers, and internal executive leadershipOversee project teams including Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and support staffMaintain strict compliance with federal contract requirements, including:
FAR / DFARS
regulationsSafety, quality, and security protocolsFederal reporting, documentation, and audit standardsManageprojectfinancials including:
Budgets and forecastsCost controls and cash flowChange management and claims mitigationDrive schedule performance using CPM and other scheduling toolsEnsure subcontractor and vendor performance aligns with safety, quality, and schedule expectationsLead risk management, constructability reviews, and value engineering effortsSupport business unit leadership with staffing, project transition planning, and future pursuit strategy

Delivery Methods:
Design-Build, CM-at-Risk, Design-Bid-Build, MATOCQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (required)10+ years of progressive construction management experience, with at least:5+ years managing large-scale federal construction projectsExperience at a large or top-tier general contractor (ENR-ranked or equivalent)Proven ability to manage complex projects with high dollar values, rigorous compliance requirements, and multiple stakeholdersStrong understanding of federal contracting procedures, schedules of values, and cost controlsExcellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skillsProficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, CMiC, or similar)Ability and willingness to travel and relocate between project assignments nationwideOSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain)Active security clearance or ability to obtain one strongly preferred
