Our client is a well-established residential construction organization with a long-standing reputation for delivering quality housing and reconstruction services. They are seeking a Permit Coordinator to support permitting activities and administrative operations for active construction projects.
Job Description:
The Permit Coordinator will play a key role in supporting construction projects through the permitting process from start to finish. This position is responsible for gathering documentation, preparing permit packages, coordinating submissions with municipalities, maintaining project records, and ensuring all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have prior construction permitting experience and thrive in a fast-paced environment where organization and attention to detail are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications through various municipal and county jurisdictions
- Gather and review project documentation to ensure permit packages are complete and accurate
- Maintain organized electronic and physical project files
- Coordinate with municipalities, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding permit requirements and approvals
- Prepare job folders, construction documentation, and project records
- Monitor permit statuses and follow up to ensure timely processing
- Assist with homeowner inquiries, warranty-related requests, and project documentation needs
- Support field teams and project personnel with administrative tasks and information requests
- Track project-related documentation throughout the pre-construction process
- Assist with special projects and office support activities as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative or office support experience
- At least 1 year of construction permitting experience required
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with permitting departments, municipalities, builders, or contractors is highly desirable
- Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
