Project Manager Team Leader Tallahassee, FL $27

  • Contract Responsibilities Daily, provide leadership on and carry out informatics assessments to support public health policies and practices, improving data and health information systems modernization, decision support, and stakeholder engagement as directed by the Department.
Weekly and at the direction of the Department, manage projects related to the improvement of public health infrastructure, data standards, process maps, and standard operating procedures. Monthly and at the direction of the Department, monitor progress towards meeting the workforce development plan with public health workforce Monthly and at the direction of the Department, identify novel approaches to improve data quality and timeliness across all platforms, reducing the burden on external data partners, and implementing data sharing for interoperable, accessible data for public health action. Monthly and at the direction of the Department, participate in national workgroup calls with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), and Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) regarding topics such as electronic lab and case reporting and data modernization. Monthly and at the direction of the Department, participate in internal workgroups that include Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) readiness, interoperability, data visualization, data modernization, data science, strategic planning or workforce development. Annually and at the direction of the Department, develop and maintain a strategic plan that will establish short-term and long-range objectives related to electronic data reporting. Annually and at the direction of the Department, complete a gap analysis, needs assessment, and workforce development plan that outlines the knowledge and skills of the current workforce linked to the anticipated knowledge and skills of the future workforce to best meet agency goals and objectives. As directed by the Department, perform any additional tasks to support the Department, including response activities.
Required qualifications and experience:
A minimum of 10 years with the Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong written and oral communication skills A minimum of 6 years managing projects, with a proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline. A minimum of 2 years in informatics, including familiarity with standardized vocabulary, interoperability between systems, and a general understanding of how informatics supports public health surveillance. A minimum of 2 years with business processes in the medical field, laboratory information management systems and electronic health records in the last five years, with an emphasis on epidemiology.
