Project Manager - Solar & BESS (Utility & Community Scale) 📍
Location:
Tampa, FL or Los Angeles, CA (preferred) About the Opportunity An established and growing renewable energy developer is seeking a Project Manager to lead the development and execution of utility-scale and community-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the U.S. This role will be instrumental in advancing projects from early-stage development through NTP and construction, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end project development for solar (36MW-200MW) and standalone BESS projects Manage all development phases including: Land acquisition and real estate negotiations Permitting and regulatory approvals (critical focus area) Interconnection processes with ISOs and utilities EPC contractor selection, negotiation, and execution Project financing coordination, including tax equity and financial modeling support Power purchase agreements (PPAs) and offtake negotiations Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and budget Drive due diligence efforts, including support for M&A transactions (e.g., MIPAs) Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project milestones Qualifications ~4+ years of experience in renewable energy project development Proven experience managing full project lifecycle (development through construction) Strong permitting expertise (high priority for this role) Hands-on experience with: Interconnection processes EPC contracting and negotiation Project finance fundamentals and stakeholder coordination PPA/offtake agreements Experience working within major ISOs such as: CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, or ISO-NE Bachelor's degree required Preferred Profile Experience with both solar and energy storage projects Background in utility-scale or community-scale renewable projects Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate independently Willingness to be based in or relocate to Southern California or Tampa Eligibility Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Why Apply?
