Job Title:
Project Coordinator - Power Generation Special Projects Job Description The Project Coordinator supports a Central Maintenance - Special Projects organization within the power generation division, focusing on wind, solar, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. The role partners closely with a Senior Project Manager to coordinate construction and renewables projects, maintain project documentation, manage schedules and budgets, and facilitate communication among diverse stakeholders. A technical background in mechanical or electrical systems and field construction techniques is preferred but not required. The position is based onsite in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with travel to field projects of up to approximately 25%. Responsibilities Participate in project design meetings and actively propose improvements to enhance project outcomes. Identify potential risks and technical challenges early in the project lifecycle and develop practical solutions to mitigate them. Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and new project information to keep all stakeholders aligned. Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to ensure workflow stays on track and milestones are met. Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials, records, and documentation are current, properly filed, and securely stored. Prepare, review, and direct project correspondence, including project proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and emails, to maintain clear and consistent communication. Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives, ensuring expectations are clear and documented. Monitor project expenses, adhere to established budgets, and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate. Support construction and renewables projects in wind, solar, and battery energy storage by coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners. Assist the Senior Project Manager with day-to-day project coordination activities, status tracking, and reporting. Use project management tools to track progress, manage documentation, and support decision-making. Collaborate with engineering, construction, and maintenance personnel across multiple disciplines to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution. Essential Skills 0-5 years of experience in construction project coordination, construction management, or project management, ideally within construction or renewables. Demonstrated experience in project management and project coordination, including schedule and task tracking. Experience interfacing with a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple disciplines. Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain strong working relationships. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address project issues and risks effectively. Team management and leadership skills to guide and coordinate project team members. Proficiency in documentation management and the use of project management tools. Strong attention to detail, especially when working under pressure and tight deadlines. Effective time management skills to meet project schedules and deliverables. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Familiarity with construction or renewables environments, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical background or understanding of mechanical and electrical aspects of projects, field construction techniques, and equipment (preferred but not required). Schedule management experience using Smartsheet or similar tools. Knowledge of SAP for project, cost, or materials tracking. Knowledge of Maximo for asset or maintenance management. Experience with budget and cost tracking on construction or energy projects. Experience working in the construction, renewables, or power generation industry, particularly with wind, solar, or battery storage projects. Demonstrated ability to propose process improvements during project design and execution. Comfort with client-facing communication to clarify requirements, scope, and objectives. Work Environment The role is primarily onsite at an office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, working closely with a Senior Project Manager and cross-functional project teams. The position supports wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects, requiring coordination with field construction activities and periodic travel to project sites of up to approximately 25%. The work environment is office-based, using tools such as Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, SAP, and Maximo for scheduling, documentation, and cost tracking. The culture emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, adherence to deadlines, and careful documentation to support complex power generation and renewables projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of West Palm Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
