Job Description
OverviewAs a Water Resources Engineer in Duluth, GA, you will lead and contribute to diverse projects, including stormwater management, environmental permitting, MS4 compliance, watershed planning, and municipal engineering. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions while supporting sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead environmental planning and permitting for complex transportation and infrastructure projects.
Interpret and apply local, state, and federal environmental regulations throughout project lifecycles.
Advise municipalities on environmental policies, technical standards, and design guidelines.
Oversee QA/QC for technical deliverables, including reports, permit applications, and design documentation.
Manage project scopes, budgets, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
Provide mentorship and performance oversight for junior and mid-level engineers.
Drive client engagement and business development, including proposals and strategic growth initiatives.
QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Georgia or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and water resource engineering.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act and state-specific permitting frameworks.
Established relationships with regulatory agencies and municipal governments in Georgia.
Proven leadership in mentoring and developing engineering teams.
Preferred SkillsAdvanced project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Ability to manage staff utilization and optimize resources for efficient project delivery.
Excellent communication skills for technical and client-facing interactions.
Collaborative approach to problem-solving and team leadership.
