Job Description One of Insight Global's major clients are seeking a Cost Analyst to support capital projects at an electric utility company with multiple power generations sites across the state. Selected individuals will be responsible for the following:
Track and analyze capital project costs against approved budgets, identifying variances and forecasting cost-to-complete.
Prepare and maintain accruals, commitments, and monthly close support to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Partner with project managers, engineering, and procurement to validate estimates, invoices, and contractor billings.
Develop cost reports and dashboards to support capital governance, regulatory requirements, and leadership reviews.

Hands-on experience tracking CAPEX budgets, forecasts, commitments, and cost-to-complete for large infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of accruals, variance analysis, monthly close processes, and capital vs. expense treatment under accrual accounting.
Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups) and experience producing clear cost reports and dashboards for project and leadership teams.
