Pa'a:
Building the Foundation Until Firm project at Kaua'i Community College, located in Līhu'e, Hawai'i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY RANGE
$2,500 - $3,000/Mon (@50% FTE).
DUTIES:
Works closely with and reports to the grant Principal Investigator (PI) and the co-PIs to monitor grant activities, progress, expenditures, objectives, and tasks while ensuring monthly meetings with the project management team and regular communications and coordination with schools and teacher participants. Creates Memoranda of Agreements with participating schools for teacher professional development activities and assist the grant team with scheduling all activities with participating schools and teachers.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.
EXPERIENCE
Four to six (4-6) years of experience in grant or project coordination, including fiscal management and writing reports.
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and database programs.
ABILITIES & SKILLS
Strong ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and to anticipate problems. Strong ability to work in a team. Strong ability to be accurate, detail-oriented, and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Strong ability for organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a diverse team. Ability to track grant funding and expenditures and to complete financial and narrative reports. Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT
As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai'i's and/or business entity's policies, procedures, and trainings. Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.).
SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university. Experience with grant management, managing budgets and programs, and working with grant personnel. Accounting experience. Experience with the Hawai'i Department of Education system in relation to teacher training and professional development. Knowledge of NSF grant regulations and State procurement regulations. Experience with human subject research, following IRB protocols, and current IRB training.
