This is an on-site role, requiring daily presence at our client's office in Oakbrook Terrace, IL or project sites.
The schedule is Monday-Friday with a flexible start time between 7am-9am.
Local candidates only Overview Join our client's Transmission Substation & Business Projects team as a Mid-level Project Manager, where you will be instrumental in connecting large, sophisticated customers like Meta and Google to our utility system.
This hands-on role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and engineering to property procurement, easements, and construction. You will collaborate extensively with a team of 20 project managers and external stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects. We are seeking a technically strong project manager with a background in utilities, particularly substations or generation, who thrives in an on-site, dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage large-scale customer projects to facilitate connections to the client's system.
Facilitate and coordinate large project teams through all phases, including planning, engineering, property procurement, easements, and construction.
Collaborate extensively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Drive projects through to successful construction completion.
Required Qualifications:
5-10 years in project management experience.
Strong utility background, with experience in substation, wind farm, or generation projects.
Ability to work on-site daily at the office or project site.
Experience in leading projects through engineering design, permitting, procurement, construction, and close-out phases.
Demonstrated experience working on complex infrastructure projects.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
