Five values guide everything we do: Own It Raise the Bar One Team Figure It Out Earn Trust Every Day Location Chicago, IL 60609 (on-site, required) Why This Role Matters On a multifamily construction project, the Project Manager is the reason a general contractor calls us back. You're the connective tissue between estimating, engineering, production, purchasing, and the GC - and when you do your job well, everything else runs on time. We're hiring a detail-oriented, proactive Project Manager to drive execution across custom casework and millwork projects. You'll own the entire project lifecycle post-PO - budgeting, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and cross-functional coordination - to ensure every project is delivered on time, within scope, and to spec. This role calls for a true orchestrator: someone who can see the big picture, manage the details, and bring internal and external stakeholders into alignment. Responsibilities Strategically plan, develop, and oversee casework and millwork projects from PO through final punch Budget, schedule, and manage milestones with a strong client-service mindset Review and coordinate architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals with engineering and GC teams Lead field visits to conduct surveys, gather site data, and document conditions Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement timelines, and job tracking Communicate clearly with internal teams and GC partners to prevent delays and misalignment Visit job sites (<5%, local and out-of-state) for walk-throughs, final punch, and installation support Monitor quality, cost, and timelines; solve problems before they impact delivery Support continuous improvement and process upgrades across project management workflows Qualifications Don't meet every single requirement? Required:
3+ years of experience managing casework, millwork, or interior construction projects (we'll consider strong candidates with 1-2 years for a Jr. PM designation) Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications Familiarity with millwork, casework fabrication, woodworking, or related manufacturing Understanding of expediting, purchasing coordination, and construction logistics Excellent time management, attention to detail, and prioritization under pressure Strong interpersonal communication with both internal teams and external GC clients Full proficiency in Microsoft Office; formulaic Excel experience a plus Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
