Please note this is a grant funded position Posting Details Posting Summary Posting Number S00604P Position Title Coordinator, Special Projects Position Type Hourly Department Adult Education Essential Function The Adult Education Off-site Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Adult Education (AE) department, the School of Continuing Education (CE) and other partners; collaborates with CE Extension Site Directors/partners to plan, coordinate and deliver Adult Education classes at multiple locations throughout the district; is responsible for providing support to adult education students and faculty at off-campus locations.
Qualifications Education:
Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred
Certification:
CASAS administrator and proctor
Experience:
Experience working in a busy office environment; Experience working in an educational environment serving limited-English speaking and low literacy adults preferred; Experience planning and collaborating with community partners preferred.
Knowledge:
Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for administrative tasks.
Skills:
Strong communication and presentation skills; Strong computer skills; High level of efficiency, organization, attention to detail, resourcefulness, follow through, prioritization, time management and decision-making; Good judgment, positive and inspiring attitude; Ability to work with diverse student populations and limited-English speaking adults; Ability to drive to multiple locations in District 504; bilingual preferred Responsibilities 1. Serve as a liaison between the adult education department, School of Continuing Education (CE), CE Extension Site Directors, and other partners, to plan and deliver adult education classes at off- site locations. 2. Serve as a liaison between the adult education (AE) department and faculty teaching and students attending classes at off-site locations. 3. Schedule off-site classes in collaboration with the CE Extension Site Directors and Director of AE Transitions. 4.Manage student progress through the enrollment pipeline. 5. Conduct information sessions at off-site locations. 6. Help students complete application. 7. Complete student ID and residence verification process 8.Facilitate testing sessions at off-site locations. 9.Conduct online orientation sessions in collaboration with the Director of Transitions. 10. Facilitate messaging to students at every stage of the enrollment pipeline. 11.Advise students attending off-site classes in collaboration with the Completion and Transition Specialists. 12. Manage flow of data and materials to and from the department and off-site locations. 13. Represent the AE department at partnership meetings, open houses, fairs and events. 14.Participate in special projects /research related to off-campus programming. 15.Implement college and funder policies and regulations. 16.Maintain positive customer-relations attitude and supportive approach to working with students 17.
