  • $140,000 /yr Posted May 13, 2026 Project Manager | Transportation Engineering | IDOT | PE License (Also recruiting for Sr Project Engineer Transportation with 5+ years of exp $85-110K) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in Transportation to lead and manage complex projects in roadway and transportation design.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation engineering, with a focus on delivering innovative and efficient design solutions that meet client expectations and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning and design of Phase I and Phase II transportation projects, including roadway design and traffic modeling. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and compliance with IDOT regulations. Conduct traffic studies and analyze data to inform design decisions. Oversee the preparation of engineering documents and specifications for transportation projects. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project deadlines. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns. Facilitate communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 7+ years of experience in transportation engineering and roadway design. Knowledgeable of civil design software such as MicroStation and traffic modeling software like Synchro and Highway Capacity Software. Familiarity with IDOT regulations and permitting processes. Experience with Phase I and Phase II design phases, as well as roadway construction and rehabilitation projects.
