Job Description

Project Manager Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of automated machinery projects from contract award through final installation and customer acceptance. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards. The Project Manager coordinates cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, controls, installation, and service personnel to deliver complex automation solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with experience managing capital equipment or industrial automation projects.
Travel Requirement:
Up to 30% travel is required for customer meetings, project reviews, equipment acceptance testing, installation oversight, and site commissioning activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage multiple automated machinery projects simultaneously from project kickoff through final customer acceptance. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk assessments. Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle. Lead project kickoff meetings and coordinate regular status reviews with customers and project teams. Monitor project performance, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed. Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, procurement, controls, and field service activities to ensure project milestones are achieved. Track project costs, change orders, and scope modifications to maintain profitability and customer satisfaction. Facilitate design reviews, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and installation activities. Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained according to company standards. Prepare and present project status reports to customers and company leadership. Support contract review activities and ensure compliance with customer requirements. Work closely with sales and engineering teams during project handoff and execution phases. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout project activities. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing Technology, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Experience 3-7+ years of project management experience in industrial automation, custom machinery, manufacturing equipment, robotics, or related industries. Experience managing capital equipment projects from design through installation. Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and customer relationships. Experience with ERP and project management software preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of automated machinery, manufacturing processes, and industrial systems. Excellent project planning, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong leadership and team coordination abilities. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. PMP certification is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to travel domestically up to 30% of the time. Ability to visit manufacturing facilities and customer sites, including production environments. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Work Environment This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments. The role requires frequent interaction with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and production personnel. Occasional exposure to machinery, manufacturing equipment, and industrial environments is expected. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during facility visits and site activities.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
