This hybrid role combines permit coordination, project administration, and CAD/design support for commercial warehouse and pallet rack installation projects. The ideal candidate will assist with permit applications and code compliance while also supporting the CAD and operations departments with layouts, design concepts, project coordination, and technical documentation. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Permit Coordination Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for pallet rack and warehouse projects Coordinate with municipalities, fire departments, and building officials regarding permit approvals and requirements Gather and organize required project documentation including engineered drawings, calculations, and site plans Schedule inspections and coordinate correction responses when necessary Maintain accurate permit records and compliance documentation Monitor permit timelines to ensure projects remain on schedule Assist with contractor registrations and licensing requirements across jurisdictions CAD & Design Support Assist the CAD and Operations Departments with warehouse layouts and design concepts Use AutoCAD extensively to create and modify customer layouts and concept drawings Perform analysis of customer requirements and assist in developing storage and material handling solutions Support proposal development and concept presentations for customers and sales teams Help evaluate design concepts and recommend effective solutions Assist with project planning, tracking, and coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget Collaborate with sales, operations, and customers to evaluate needs and develop practical warehouse solutions Participate in internal development projects and operational initiatives Manage workload and priorities assigned by the Director of Operations Qualifications Required High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred 2+ years of experience in permitting, construction coordination, CAD support, or project administration Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and technologies Preferred Experience in pallet rack, warehouse systems, construction, or material handling industries Experience with building permits, fire permits, or code compliance Ability to read construction drawings and engineered plans Experience using AutoCAD in a professional setting Industrial Engineering background or equivalent industry experience Software & Technical Skills AutoCAD Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook SolidWorks (preferred) Project tracking and organizational software General understanding of warehouse systems and material handling equipment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills Ability to work through project issues in a timely and professional manner Compensation & Benefits • $50,000-$65,000 (Annual based on experience) Health insurance after 60 days Paid time off and holidays after 90 days 401(k) with company match Career advancement opportunities
