We are seeking a candidate to work in the capacity of Construction Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager. A detailed Job Description is provided below to assist in your review of this position. Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager Gariup Construction Co., Inc.,

Gary, Indiana:

The candidate will assist project executives with a variety of tasks related to current projects. They will assist in reviewing construction documents for a project, drafting budgets, scheduling, material procurement and monitoring labor productivity.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Manage multiple areas of Project Management to include: Prime Contracts, Subcontractor/Vendor Contracts, Purchase Orders, Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders Receive and track subcontractor/vendor submittals, shop drawings and Requests for Information Establish and maintain within project logs to include: Procurement log, RFI log, Submittal log, Safety log, daily reports etc. Identify and track critical material lead times to ensure a timely delivery date Draft and maintain project CPM Schedule Assist Site Superintendent with Project closeout and demobilization Attend project meetings that may be required and create/maintain related meeting minutes as needed Assist in compiling project Close-Out package to include: Warranty letters, O&M's, As-Builts, etc.

REQUIRED

Four year college degree in a construction related field (construction management/technology, civil engineering) Knowledge of basic construction processes & systems Aptitude for construction documents and specification manuals Ability to compile and analyze data Strong organizational and writing/speaking skill Desire to mature into a leader and member of a dedicated team Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology.
