Job Description

At Porter Roofing and Restoration, we are a leading contractor in residential construction with a strong commitment to developing innovative and efficient solutions to meet our customers' needs. We are seeking like-minded, motivated individuals to add to our already dedicated team committed to excellence. We foster a collaborative work environment where creativity thrives, and individuals can make meaningful contributions to our growing success. A+ rating on BBB Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor James Hardie Partner Member of BAGI (Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis) Member of CCN (Certified Contractors Network)
Role Overview:
The Quality Control Inspector is one of the most trusted and high-accountability roles at Porter Roofing and Restoration. QCIs protect Porter's revenue, reputation, and customer trust by ensuring every install meets our standards — from pre-install preparation through final walkthrough and project completion. This role demands discipline, urgency, and flawless execution on every job, every day.
Responsibilities:
Review every assigned install file the night before to confirm insurance vs. retail status, required supplement photos, order forms, production notes, existing home photos, and payments due on install day. Text homeowners the night before install to introduce yourself as the QCI, confirm your arrival time, and set clear expectations for install-day communication and oversight. Arrive on-site when the crew arrives — punctuality is non-negotiable in this role. Capture all required photos at every stage of the install: pre-install condition, tear-off, progress, completion, and insurance supplement photos — uploaded clearly and completely to CompanyCam. Enforce full jobsite protection for decks, windows, landscaping, AC units, garage doors, driveways, and other high-risk areas — with authority to stop work if protections are inadequate. Verify all materials match the Material Order Form on every job; escalate discrepancies immediately through Production. Review the Crew Work Order with the crew lead and hold crews accountable to installing only what is scoped — nothing more, nothing less. Visit each assigned install a minimum of 2-3 times per day, documenting workmanship, signage, and your presence at each visit. Collect day-of-install payments when required and deliver checks to the office by noon; leaving checks unsecured is unacceptable. Complete post-inspections within 48 hours of roof completion, removing all leftover materials and uploading all documentation to the CRM. Complete final walkthroughs within 3 days of a file entering Walk Through status, including full photo documentation, a completed Project Completion Sheet, and signed homeowner approval. Support the team during light schedule days with lot organization, container management, tool room upkeep, and other operational needs. As a representative of Porter Roofing & Restoration, you will embody professionalism, integrity, and dedication in every interaction.
