PRIMARY PURPOSE

Are you ready to be part of a growing organization and very skilled delivery team? SIMON is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead complex, multi-million dollar projects. Our Information Services team defines, plans and manages the implementation of large and complex business technology initiatives to continuously improve SIMON end user capabilities and empower departments to achieve business goals through the use of SIMON technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and results oriented individual to oversee and drive critical capital projects. The projects will involve delivery of SaaS, mobile, web, and other enterprise scale technology solutions, and will likely include 'buy vs build' analysis, software selection and custom software development. The ideal candidate will have experience with various delivery methodologies and working collaboratively across functional areas to assure quality and timely project implementations and business adoption. This position not only requires exceptional project management experience but the drive to make a key impact and deliver value to the business, with the ability and desire to continually improve processes for more consistent delivery.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Project Management Responsible for leading, planning and managing large initiatives. Responsible for defining and managing cost, scope, schedule, risk and other project KPIs. This includes managing consultants and resources to assure projects are delivered as documented in the project charter. Maintains resource forecasting, planning and work assignment allocations. Reviews and negotiates hardware and software contracts to ensure they will meet the needs of Simon. Communicates progress to senior leadership and leads steering team and project status meetings. Project Team Development Creates a collaborative environment that encourages creative solutions and emphasizes quality and cost. Aligns project performance development with departmental and individual development. Provides direction and mentors project team members. PMO Standards and Processes Ensures project delivery methodology is planned for and complied with. Manages project change control processes. Portfolio Risk and Quality Management Verifies projects for delivery quality and consistency, and ensures compliance with internal and external audits. Ensures risk assessments are completed and resulting plans are actively executed and managed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of experience in progressive Project and IT Management roles with multiple years managing projects spanning 6 or more months with large capital budgets and teams. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and PMP Certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage large projects from initiation through successful implementation. Excellent communication and demonstrated success communicating with senior executives and team members. Ability to work collaboratively with indirect reports in a matrix organization to establish clear assignments and prioritize responsibilities. Expert at building and maintaining effective relationships across functional areas and departments. Experience working effectively within and across the organization to define project goals, work content and evaluate project results. Demonstrated ability to negotiate large dollar, enterprise-scale vendor contracts with consulting firms, hardware, and software vendors. Experience identifying creative solutions and alternative approaches based upon project management principles. Expertise in planning, forecasting and resource management. Demonstrated ability to challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with a view toward enhancement and improvement.
