Steel/Metals Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with an A/E or engineering consulting background to lead a portfolio of metals industry projects. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of large-scale industrial projects (typically $1MM+ in fees). This role requires experience in a consulting/A&E environment (not in-plant operations), with deep metals industry knowledge from the perspective of an external advisor delivering projects for clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary client contact and account manager, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction
  • Support business development, proposals, scoping, and contract negotiations
  • Lead project execution, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Develop execution strategies as designs evolve through permitting and construction
  • Monitor scope, schedule, and cost; manage change authorizations
  • Manage project financials including pricing, invoicing, cash flow, and profitability
  • Develop and maintain project documentation (scope, estimates, schedules, reporting)
  • Promote cost-efficient, innovative design solutions
  • Prepare client reports on cost, schedule, and quality performance Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred)
  • 5-10+ years of project management experience in an A/E or consulting firm is required
  • Experience managing complex industrial projects as a consultant
  • Proven success delivering large-scale projects
  • Direct experience serving steel/metals industry clients
  • Familiarity with A/E, AEPCM, and Design-Build delivery models
  • Experience with industrial safety standards and contract/liability considerations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
