Planning Manager

Introduction Brunel is supporting a leading mining company in hiring an experienced Project Portfolio Planning / Scheduling Manager to oversee planning activities across a large portfolio of capital projects. This is a senior-level role within the Project Controls team, supporting major industrial and mining projects. What are you going to do Lead planning and scheduling activities across multiple capital projects Manage and review project schedules using Primavera P6 Ensure schedules follow company standards and project procedures Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation plans Support project execution strategies and overall project delivery Provide schedule analysis, reporting, and performance updates to leadership Mentor and lead a team of planners and schedulers Support hiring and development of planning resources Maintain Primavera P6 systems, data integrity, and reporting structures Work closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams Key Responsibilities Review and maintain baseline schedules and version control Analyze project delays, risks, and scheduling issues Develop solutions to improve project performance Communicate project updates and risks to senior leadership Ensure consistency across portfolio planning processes Support long-term project planning and strategic scheduling initiatives Read more Essential skills and knowledge Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 Experience managing multiple large projects simultaneously Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions Preferred Experience Mining or heavy industrial projects Large-scale capital or mega projects Experience with additional scheduling tools such as MS Projects Read more
