We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Project Manager to join our dynamic, Portfolio Optimization team, within the Core Surgical Innovations group. The Portfolio Optimization team within CSI has responsibility for Integrated Business Planning, Long Range Planning, Product Lifecycle Management, and other "Special Projects" as needs arise. The Principal BP Project Management Specialist will play a crucial role in executing Product Lifecycle Management projects to support our commercial strategies as well as taking on the leadership of other special projects as required. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, from initiation to completion, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and with minimal risk. This is a highly visible role within the Core Surgical Innovations business - communication skills are critical as this role will interact with all levels of the organization as well as driving cross functional teams. This is an onsite role and can be located at one of our main Surgical campuses (North Haven, CT, Mounds View, MN, Boston, Massachusetts, or Lafayette, CO).
  • Product Lifecycle Management Execution
  • + Lead the planning and execution of product phase out activity, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure key deliverables are met to achieve phase out targets.
+ Liaise with commercial leads to understand the end to end lifecycle strategy for a portfolio and then execute the phase out activity for identified products. + The phase out activity includes coordinating with manufacturing on last time builds, assessing scrap risk, working on regional last time build allocation and consumption plans, etc. + Collaborate with Cross functional teams to ensure full phase out activity is complete both physically and in the system.
  • Project Planning and Execution
  • + Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, and risk management strategies. + Coordinate project activities and deliverables across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and priorities. + Monitor project progress and performance, proactively identifying and mitigating any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Additional responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • + Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes.
+ Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. + Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. + Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. + Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with key stakeholders. + Cultivate a broad understanding of Medtronic's Core Surgical Innovations business, leveraging this knowledge to drive project success.
  • Qualifications
  • Must Have:
    Minimum Requirements
  • + Bachelors degree required + Minimum of 7 years of experience leading projects/ programs or supporting a business with process improvements or Supply Chain planning / program management experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years listed experience
  • Nice to Have
  • + PMP certification or equivalent project management certification + Experience with surgical technology or other medical devices + Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, including scope, budget, timelines, and risk management + Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners + Strong Excel and data management skills, with the ability to build and maintain accurate spreadsheets, validate data, and produce clear, actionable reports.
(e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts) + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner up to all levels of the organization + Experience working with cross functional global teams + Experience in Supply Chain, Commercial, or Engineering projects For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

PR) locations (USD):$116,000.00 - $174,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
