Project Manager Construction and Building Burlington, Massachusetts Direct Hire May 5, 2026 Project Manager - Commercial Construction
Salary:
$130,000 - $160,000 + Bonus & Benefits We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join a growing and highly respected general contractor with a strong pipeline of diverse projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has experience managing large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. With a wide range of active work across multifamily, academic, and commercial sectors, this position offers exposure to dynamic and impactful projects. Candidates with a strong background in general contracting are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Lead project planning and scheduling, including development of detailed baseline schedules Partner with Superintendents and Project Executives to maintain progress and proactively resolve issues Manage all project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and permitting processes Oversee procurement, subcontractor buyouts, and contract negotiations Coordinate and implement change orders while ensuring alignment with project scope Act as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and consultants Prepare and manage budgets, cost reports, and monthly financial projections Ensure all field operations meet quality control and safety standards Supervise and mentor Assistant Project Managers, Coordinators, and field staff Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders Oversee project closeout including punch lists, final inspections, and financial completion Support business development efforts through client relationships and industry networking Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 6-10+ years of project management experience in commercial or residential construction Experience managing projects valued at $100M+ strongly preferred High-rise residential experience is a plus Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel Deep understanding of construction drawings, contracts, scheduling, and cost control Ability to navigate active construction sites Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a collaborative environment Experience with client engagement and business development is a plus About the Company This employee-owned general contractor is built on a foundation of collaboration, integrity, and long-term relationships.
