Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description This role leads complex customer projects from pre-sales through installation and validation, with a focus on large capital equipment, construction, and technology initiatives that support the biotech industry. You will plan and coordinate cross-functional teams, manage customer expectations, oversee on-site installation and system validation, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The position requires a hands-on project manager who is comfortable working across technical, operational, and customer-facing activities while maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance. Responsibilities Manage customer projects from pre-sales through installation and validation, ensuring a seamless transition through each project phase. Develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, schedule, budget, resources, and milestones for capital equipment, construction, and technology projects. Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure flawless execution of project activities and timely delivery of all project components. Lead on-site installation management, including coordination of installation teams, monitoring progress, and resolving issues to keep the project on track. Oversee system validation activities to confirm that installed equipment and systems meet specified requirements and customer expectations. Work directly with customers to develop project-specific technical documents and requirements, ensuring clear understanding and alignment. Manage the relationship with the customer and all project stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and addressing concerns proactively. Establish and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors and partners to support project delivery and long-term collaboration. Collaborate with peers and leadership to ensure appropriate resource availability and allocation across multiple concurrent projects. Use appropriate verification and change control techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost while maintaining project objectives. Measure and track project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, and provide clear, timely status reports. Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impact on project outcomes. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within defined scope, and within approved budget parameters. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and project management tools, to support transparency and compliance. Report project status, issues, and escalations to management as needed, providing clear recommendations and action plans. Apply project management best practices to large capital equipment, construction, and technology projects, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools by sharing lessons learned and best practices with the team. Essential Skills Proven project management experience, including end-to-end management of large capital equipment, construction, or technology projects. Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital equipment development or construction project management. Strong understanding of cost, schedule, budget control, and risk management principles within complex technical projects. Solid comprehension of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals sufficient to manage technical discussions and decisions. Ability to develop detailed project plans and track progress using project management methodologies and tools. Demonstrated experience coordinating internal teams and third-party vendors to achieve project goals. Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hands-on project management approach, with a willingness to step into any project role as necessary to keep work moving forward. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project for planning, scheduling, and tracking project activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable experience. Experience working within ISO 9000 and other ISO-based quality systems. Familiarity with FDA and CGMP environments is a plus. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable. Experience managing projects in biotech or related high-technology industries is beneficial. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and vendors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Work Environment The role operates primarily in an office setting, using standard office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project and related software. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors, and may interface with environments that follow ISO, FDA, and CGMP standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
