Senior Consultant, Continuous Improvement Driving Productivity, Capacity Release, and Program Delivery through Operational Excellence Position Overview The Senior Consultant, Continuous Improvement plays a pivotal role in delivering measurable productivity outcomes — capacity release, cost reduction, and yield improvement — across our manufacturing network. This professional leads and orchestrates a portfolio of high-impact projects and programs that translate Operational Excellence principles into hard business results. Working closely with site leadership and cross-functional partners, the Senior Consultant applies project and program management discipline, Lean / Six Sigma expertise, and Operations knowledge to scope, prioritize, and drive initiatives to completion. While the role requires a strong working understanding of the OpEx framework and the ability to support its deployment, its primary focus is on the what and the when : identifying the productivity opportunity, building the plan, mobilizing the team, and delivering the financial and operational result. This role is ideal for those passionate about turning improvement opportunities into validated, sustained business value, and who thrive in managing complex programs end to end.
Key Responsibilities Productivity Program Leadership:
Own and drive a portfolio of productivity initiatives spanning capacity release, cost reduction, yield improvement, throughput, and working capital. Build the pipeline, prioritize opportunities by business value, and ensure delivery against committed financial targets. Project & Program Management:
Manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously, coordinating cross-functional teams and resources. Develop project charters, define deliverables and milestones, manage scope, schedule, risk, and ensure execution aligns with strategic and financial objectives. Opportunity Identification & Business Case Development:
Partner with site and functional leaders to identify productivity opportunities, quantify benefits, and build credible business cases with clear baselines, savings methodology, and validation plans approved by Finance. Process Analysis & Improvement:
Lead end-to-end process assessments, mapping, and redesign using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Agile methodologies. Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and root causes, and translate findings into actionable plans that deliver measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and cost. OpEx Integration:
Apply and reinforce the Operational Excellence framework as the operating system for delivering productivity. Support site OpEx maturity where needed and ensure productivity projects strengthen — rather than bypass — standard work, daily management, and problem-solving routines. Stakeholder Engagement & Governance:
Build strong relationships with senior leaders, middle management, and front-line employees. Run program governance — steering reviews, status reporting, escalation, and decision-making — to keep initiatives on track and aligned to business priorities. Change Management:
Partner with site leadership to design and implement change management, communication, and training plans that lock in productivity gains and ensure sustained adoption. Data-Driven Decision Making:
Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to size opportunities, monitor performance, and measure project impact. Present findings and recommendations through clear, executive-ready presentations and reports. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a closely related discipline. Over 10 years of progressive experience in productivity, continuous improvement, operations leadership, or program management roles within a manufacturing environment. Professional certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), or equivalent methodologies. PMP or equivalent project/program management certification strongly preferred. Demonstrated success leading multi-project programs that delivered validated, financially measurable results (capacity, cost, yield, or throughput) through cross-functional collaboration. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, supported by advanced proficiency in process mapping, data analytics, and visualization tools. Working knowledge of an Operational Excellence framework and how it enables productivity delivery; ability to operate effectively within OpEx standard work and daily management routines. Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences — including executive stakeholders. Proven ability to build and foster strong, collaborative working relationships across multiple organizational levels and geographies. Expertise in managing competing priorities and a portfolio of initiatives within fast-paced, dynamic environments. Practical knowledge of contemporary digital tools and data solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365, project/portfolio management tools). Inspirational change agent, adept at influencing others and driving accountability for results. Strong organizational and time management capabilities, with a commitment to excellence and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel is required, with the ability to effectively analyze data and present information clearly and professionally. Key Deliverables Validated productivity results:
Capacity release, cost reduction, and yield improvement targets delivered and certified through the standard savings validation process. Program execution:
On-time, on-scope delivery of a portfolio of productivity projects, with clear governance, risk management, and stakeholder reporting. Strengthened capability:
OpEx and project management competencies reinforced within site teams through hands-on partnership on live productivity initiatives.
