Position Overview Our Life Sciences client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of Veeva Basics LIMS within a research and laboratory environment. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of the implementation lifecycle, including project planning, stakeholder alignment, vendor coordination, requirements management, system deployment, and organizational change management. The successful candidate will serve as the primary project leader and a trusted advisor to laboratory, scientific, and IT stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of a laboratory informatics solution that supports scientific workflows, sample management, and laboratory operations. While direct experience with Veeva Basics LIMS is not required, candidates must have prior experience leading Veeva implementation projects and possess a strong understanding of laboratory operations, laboratory informatics, scientific data management, and LIMS ecosystems. This role requires an individual who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced biotechnology environment, collaborating across functions, driving decisions, and helping stakeholders adopt best practices while balancing business needs and system capabilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end implementation of Veeva Basics LIMS, ensuring successful delivery on schedule and within scope. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and resource allocations. Serve as the primary point of coordination between laboratory stakeholders, Research Informatics, IT, business leadership, vendors, and implementation partners. Facilitate requirements gathering, business process workshops, solution reviews, and stakeholder alignment sessions. Analyze current-state laboratory processes and help define future-state workflows that maximize business value and system capabilities. Advise stakeholders on industry best practices and out-of-the-box versus customized approaches to support long-term maintainability and scalability. Coordinate implementation activities including configuration, integration, testing, data migration, training, deployment, and post-go-live support. Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and decision-making across project teams. Partner with laboratory scientists and operational stakeholders to ensure the solution aligns with current and future-state laboratory workflows, sample management processes, and scientific data requirements. Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and implementation partners throughout the project lifecycle. Provide executive-level project communications, status reporting, governance support, and stakeholder updates. Support organizational change management, user readiness, training, and adoption activities to ensure successful business transition. Ensure alignment between business objectives, laboratory operations, and technology solutions throughout the implementation lifecycle. Required Qualifications 8+ years of IT Project Management experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organizations. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise software implementations from initiation through deployment. Prior experience managing at least one Veeva implementation project. Strong understanding of laboratory operations, laboratory informatics, scientific workflows, and laboratory data management. Experience working with LIMS platforms or laboratory information management processes. Familiarity with sample lifecycle management, laboratory testing workflows, and scientific data capture processes. Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and implementation partners. Experience managing project budgets, timelines, risks, and executive communications. Strong facilitation, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced biotech environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with laboratory informatics platforms such as LabVantage, LabWare, STARLIMS, Benchling, SampleManager, or similar solutions. Experience supporting R D, Research Informatics, or laboratory digital transformation initiatives. Experience implementing or supporting laboratory systems within GxP-regulated environments. Familiarity with sample management, laboratory testing workflows, scientific data management, and laboratory operations. PMP certification or equivalent project management certification. Experience working within highly matrixed life sciences organizations. Experience partnering with laboratory scientists, research teams, and technical stakeholders to drive process improvements and technology adoption.
