Job Description

Wrecking Corporation of America is a site work contractor specializing in demolition, excavation, grading, utilities, drainage, paving preparation, and related civil construction services. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Project Coordinator to support our project managers, superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. The Field Project Coordinator will help keep projects organized from start to finish by assisting with scheduling, documentation, material coordination, permits, change orders, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and communication between the office and field. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities Assist project managers with daily coordination of site work and heavy civil construction projects. Help organize project schedules, crew schedules, equipment needs, material deliveries, inspections, and subcontractor activities. Communicate with superintendents, foremen, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, owners, and general contractors. Track project documents including plans, specifications, permits, RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, daily reports, and closeout documents. Coordinate utility locates, permits, inspections, testing, and required project documentation. Assist with ordering materials such as stone, pipe, structures, asphalt, concrete, erosion control materials, and other site work supplies. Help track quantities, tickets, delivery slips, trucking, equipment usage, and subcontractor invoices. Maintain organized project files and ensure all documents are up to date. Review project plans and specifications to help identify required materials, deadlines, and project details. Assist with preparing and submitting change order requests, pay applications, and project reports. Follow up with vendors and subcontractors to ensure pricing, delivery dates, and required paperwork are received. Help coordinate pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and internal project updates. Take meeting notes and follow up on action items. Support field teams by making sure they have updated plans, schedules, permits, and project information. Assist with project closeout, including as-builts, warranties, lien waivers, final quantities, and punch list items. Perform other administrative and project support tasks as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in construction, site work, excavation, utilities, heavy civil, or a related field preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities at the same time. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to communicate professionally with field crews, customers, general contractors, engineers, and vendors. Basic understanding of construction plans, specifications, schedules, and project documentation preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be dependable, professional, and willing to learn. Valid driver's license preferred. Preferred Experience Experience with site work, grading, excavation, underground utilities, storm drainage, sewer, water, erosion control, paving, or concrete work. Experience working for a contractor, subcontractor, construction office, or project management team. Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Viewpoint, HCSS, Foundation, HeavyJob, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or similar programs. Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, purchase orders, and project closeout documents. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Job site visits may involve exposure to active construction areas, heavy equipment, uneven ground, weather conditions, and standard construction site hazards. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods. Ability to occasionally visit active construction sites. Ability to lift up to [25-50] pounds as needed. Must be able to safely navigate job sites when required.
