The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role helps ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. The APM works closely with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments to support project delivery. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination Assist the Project Manager with daily activities on various projects primarily consisting of pipeline infrastructure cleaning and robotic CCTV Inspection along with rehab and replacement. Help coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Track project schedules, deliverables, and milestones. Support project planning and ensure documentation is organized and current. Budget & Cost Control Assist in tracking project budgets and cost reports. Support change order management and documentation. Review invoices and subcontractor pay applications for accuracy. Help monitor project costs and identify potential overruns. Documentation & Contract Administration Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and change orders. Track and distribute updated plans and specifications. Assist with contract administration and compliance requirements. Maintain organized project files and documentation systems. Communication & Coordination Serve as a point of contact between project teams, subcontractors, and vendors. Participate in project meetings and distribute meeting minutes. Coordinate with field supervisors to ensure project progress aligns with schedule. Communicate project updates and potential issues to the Project Manager. Schedule Management Assist in maintaining project schedules and timelines. Track critical project milestones and deliverables. Coordinate procurement and material deliveries. Project Closeout Assist with project closeout documentation. Coordinate punch lists and final inspections. Ensure warranties, manuals, and required documentation are collected. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management support. Proficiency in construction management software Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Competencies Understanding of construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of construction contracts and change management. Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors. Highly Organized Excellent Problem-Solving Skills and ability to take decisive action. Time and Organization Management. Collaboration and Team Leadership; ability to multitask and handle competing priorities between business needs, organizational issues and sound customer relations. Strong Sense of Urgency and Initiative. Confidentiality and Possesses Sound Judgment to know when to escalate appropriately up the chain of command. Personal Effectiveness/Credibility. Flexibility and Adaptability. Stress Management/Composure. Physical Requirements Ability to visit and walk active construction job sites. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Ability to work in office and field environments.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday. - Flexibility is required as job duties demand.
