Overview:
DeShano Development is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to keep our growing portfolio of multifamily and senior housing developments organized, on schedule, and moving forward. The Project Coordinator position owns the timelines, documentation, and coordination that hold each deal together from site control through construction completion and closeout. You will work closely with the development team to manage project schedules, drive closing and due-diligence checklists, coordinate vendors, partners and internal staff to ensure every deadline and deliverable is met. You will be the central hub that keeps people, paperwork, and milestones aligned across ten to twenty active projects. This role is ideal for someone who is exceptionally organized, thrives on managing many moving parts at once, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain master development schedules and critical-path timelines for each project, from site control through construction completion and closeout. Track and manage deadlines for
MSHDA, USDA
Rural Development, lender and investor deliverables, keeping every project moving and nothing slipping through the cracks. Coordinate the closing and due-diligence process across lenders, equity investors, title, and legal teams, building and driving closing checklists to completion. Coordinate builder's risk and general liability insurance for active developments and provide evidence of insurance (EOIs) to lenders and investors during due diligence. Schedule and run internal team meetings, prepare agendas, capture action items, and follow them to completion. Order and track third-party reports and consultant deliverables (appraisals, market studies, environmental reports, capital needs assessments, surveys, architectural work and engineering) against project timelines. Maintain DeShano's documentation and filing standards, ensuring all project records are saved correctly on the server and project folders stay audit-ready. Update and manage the development database (Monday.com) for properties, tasks, deadlines, and project tracking. Prepare and distribute project status reports. Maintain project-specific development checklists and procedures, and create new procedures where none exist. Champion DeShano Development through timely, professional communication with internal and external partners. Provide general support to the development team as needed.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in construction management, real estate, business administration, project management, urban or community planning, finance, or a related field.
Other Requirements:
Organization and follow-through are fundamental to this role. The successful candidate will keep multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders aligned at once, so accuracy, consistency, and a strong sense of ownership are essential. In addition, the applicant should possess the following qualifications: Proven experience coordinating complex projects, or transactions, ideally in real estate development, construction, or affordable housing. Familiarity with the affordable housing development process (LIHTC, MSHDA, USDA Rural Development) is strongly preferred. Understanding of construction draw and closing documentation. Proficiency in Excel and comfort learning project-management and database tools (Monday.com experience a plus). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment. Exceptional attention to detail. Professional project-management training or certification is a plus. Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation. Must pass drug test (if required) and clear a criminal background check. Must agree to an "at-will" employment relationship. Must sign and comply with a non-disclosure agreement.
