As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our Project Management team and help ensure projects are delivered with excellence, efficiency, and care. Position Summary The Assistant Project Manager plays a key supporting role in the successful execution of projects from award through installation. This position partners closely with Project Managers to coordinate project details, maintain documentation, track schedules and costs, and communicate effectively across internal teams and external partners. The APM is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build a strong foundation in project management while living Händorn's core values every day. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Support Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project execution from award through closeout. Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking of milestones to ensure on-time delivery. Help maintain project budgets, change orders, and cost tracking in coordination with the Project Manager. Prepare and organize project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, meeting notes, and closeout materials. Communication & Collaboration Serve as a point of contact for internal teams (engineering, drafting, production, installation) to ensure clear flow of information. Assist with client, contractor, and vendor communication under the guidance of the Project Manager. Participate in project meetings and help document action items and follow-ups. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Proactively identify potential issues, risks, or gaps and escalate them appropriately. Support resolution of project challenges with a learning-oriented mindset. Look for opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and communication to make it easier for others to succeed. Systems & Administration Utilize ERP and project management systems to maintain accurate, timely project data. Support scheduling, purchasing coordination, and production readiness as needed. Ensure project files are complete, accurate, and up to date. Performance Expectations (What Success Looks Like) Projects are well-organized, documented, and supported with minimal rework. Internal teams have the information they need, when they need it. Project Managers can rely on the APM for follow-through, accuracy, and clear communication. Issues are identified early and addressed collaboratively. Growth is demonstrated in project understanding, ownership, and decision-making over time. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; prior experience in construction, manufacturing, millwork, casework, or a related trade or support role is valued. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with project management or ERP software is a plus. Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow into increasing levels of responsibility.
