Horizontal Directional Drill Supervisor / Project Manager

Job Overview Augusta is rapidly expanding our HDD division. We're seeking a local candidate to oversee in-house crews (primary) and subcontractors (secondary) on high-volume telecom projects—targeting 4,000+ ft/week per crew. Manage planning, locates, scheduling, and execution. Work is currently in West Michigan ; must have ability to travel when work shifts. Mid-May start!

Key Responsibilities Project Management:

Lead full HDD project lifecycle: bore path validation, locates, scheduling, execution, site inspections, and close-out documentation. Ability to operate Vermeer HDD rigs and Falcon F5+ locators; supervise daily field crews for safety, quality, and productivity. Train/manage in-house teams; oversee subcontractors for capacity. Issue assignments, track progress, coordinate resources, conduct quality control inspections, and maintain detailed logs for safety incidents, maintenance, and reports. Manage communication with clients, vendors, teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth execution. Required Qualifications Proven multi-project management experience , HDD operation, locating, and crew leadership in underground telecom construction. Highly organized with strong time management, multitasking, and attention to detail. Local to Grand Rapids, MI area with reliable transportation. Excellent verbal/written communication for team coordination, client updates, reporting, and stakeholder liaison. Preferred Qualifications Valid CDL. ERP/Procore experience. Telecom construction subcontractor management. Fiber optic/utility background, blueprint reading, bore path design, customer standards compliance, equipment maintenance, and crew development.
