Senior Project Manager / Director of Project Management Company Overview Händorn is a leading manufacturer of high-quality commercial casework and custom architectural millwork. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Project Manager to lead projects from award through installation, ensuring exceptional outcomes for our clients and our internal teams. Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of assigned projects from award through closeout. This role owns project planning, financial performance, schedule adherence, and communication across all stakeholders. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes and plays a critical role in aligning internal teams, external partners, and client expectations. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and decision-making skills, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement—all while living Händorn's core values every day. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead projects from award through installation and closeout, owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones to ensure on-time delivery. Establish project budgets, track costs, manage change orders, and maintain financial performance. Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Communication & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, architects, and key partners. Lead project meetings and ensure clear documentation, action items, and follow-through. Coordinate closely with internal teams including engineering, drafting, production, purchasing, and installation. Provide clear, timely project updates and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Problem Solving & Decision Making Address and resolve project challenges related to scope, schedule, cost, and constructability. Make informed decisions using sound judgment, data, and collaboration. Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership and accountability. Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement Utilize ERP and project management systems to maintain accurate, real-time project data. Ensure all project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, closeout materials) is complete and accurate. Identify opportunities to improve project workflows, communication, and internal coordination. Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers as assigned. Performance Expectations (What Success Looks Like) Projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with contract requirements. Clients and partners experience clear communication, confidence, and professionalism. Internal teams receive timely, accurate information that supports efficient execution. Financial performance is well-managed with minimal surprises. Risks and issues are identified early and resolved collaboratively. Continuous improvement is demonstrated in project outcomes and team effectiveness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. 3-5+ years of project management experience: Trades/Construction/ManufacturingREQUIRED.
Commercial casework or millwork preferred. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction workflows. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP and project management software required (Innergy experience strongly preferred).
