Asphalt Assistant Project Manager Titan Pavement Pontiac, MI Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Qualifications Computer operation High school diploma or GED Driver's License Data entry Office management Full Job Description Position Summary The Asphalt Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of asphalt paving and roadway construction projects. This role works primarily in the field alongside project managers, superintendents, crews, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards. Key Responsibilities Assist the Project Manager with daily field operations for asphalt paving and construction projects Coordinate crews, equipment, trucking, subcontractors, and materials on job sites Monitor project schedules and help ensure deadlines are met Conduct site inspections to verify quality, safety, and compliance with specifications Track quantities, production rates, labor hours, and material usage Communicate with clients, inspectors, suppliers, and internal teams regarding project progress Help prepare daily reports, field documentation, change orders, and project updates Support project budgeting, cost tracking, and invoice review Ensure company safety procedures are followed at all times Assist with traffic control coordination and job site logistics Respond to field issues and help resolve operational challenges quickly Participate in project meetings and provide status updates Support estimating and project closeout activities when needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred 1-3 years of experience in asphalt paving, roadway construction, or heavy civil construction preferred Knowledge of asphalt paving operations, grading, milling, and site work Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software is a plus Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed Skills & Abilities Leadership and teamwork Problem-solving in fast-paced field environments Time management and multitasking Attention to detail and quality control Understanding of construction safety practices Ability to manage field crews and subcontractors effectively Work Environment Primarily field-based with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction equipment, dust, noise, and traffic May require early mornings, overtime, weekends, and seasonal schedule demands
