Job Description
The Account Manager — Client Services serves as the primary point of contact for client accounts, owning the client relationship from onboarding through ongoing support. This role drives client retention through predictable communication, timely resolution of issues, and seamless coordination with internal teams. The Account Manager balances day-to-day client responsiveness with a proactive approach to workflow management, business development, and continuous improvement. This role sits at the intersection of client-facing relationship work and internal operational coordination — translating client needs into clear direction for analytical, data review, and quality teams, while keeping clients informed and confident throughout the testing process. Equally important, the Account Manager plays an active role in supporting revenue growth by identifying new or crossselling opportunities for and working alongside the sales team to convert them. We are looking for someone who is genuinely service-oriented and organized under pressure — someone who follows through consistently, communicates proactively rather than reactively, and takes pride in being the person clients trust to get things right.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship & Account Ownership Own client accounts and support retention by maintaining predictable communication, closing the loop on feedback, and resolving complaints within expected timeframes. Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day client interactions, addressing inquiries, sample status, test progress, and results. Facilitate client onboarding by providing clear guidance on submission processes, conducting training sessions, and ensuring clients are fully supported from the start. Maintain updated records of client contacts, testing needs/frequency, and client portal feature requests. 2. Sample Prioritization & Internal Coordination Coordinate sample prioritization, including rush requests, and maintain up-to-date tracking within systems. Meet turnaround time expectations by managing capacity proactively and reallocating work as needed to keep projects moving. Collaborate with analytical, data review, and other internal teams to align on sample requirements, ensuring timely processing and accurate client updates. 3. Business Development & Growth Support Work alongside the Account Executive and sales team to meet monthly revenue goals, with a specific focus on new client development and conversion. Document client testing opportunities and requests for future method development, ensuring these are captured and communicated to the appropriate internal teams. Identify cross-program opportunities within existing accounts and surface qualified leads that support company growth objectives. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, pipeline activity, and follow-up commitments to support sales team visibility and forecasting. Secondary Roles & Responsibilities 1. Continuous Improvement & Workflow Enhancement Participate in continuous improvement and change initiatives that simplify workflows, reduce cycle time, and strengthen the client experience. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows within the Client Services team, contributing to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness. Participate in regular process reviews to help implement best practices that benefit the client experience and overall team performance. 2. Collaboration & Team Support Actively share knowledge and provide day-to-day support to colleagues, contributing to consistent practices, cross-coverage, and a collaborative team culture. Provide input on potential process improvements and contribute to team discussions on optimization and efficiency. Perform additional duties as the position develops or as directed by management. #LI-CB1Qualifications:
B.S. in a science discipline, business, communications, or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a client-facing role — account management, client services, customer success, or equivalent — in a technical, scientific, or regulated industry context. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts or projects simultaneously with a high level of organization and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts or testing processes to non-technical clients clearly and without jargon. Proficiency with productivity and tracking tools (e.g., project management platforms, LIMS, CRM systems, or equivalent); comfort working across multiple systems simultaneously. Demonstrated experience supporting or contributing to revenue goals — whether through account growth, lead generation, upselling, or close collaboration with a sales team. Preferred Experience in a contract laboratory, analytical testing, or regulated scientific services environment — particularly dietary supplements, food and beverage, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical. Familiarity with COAs, testing workflows, and the language of analytical chemistry or microbiology — enough to interpret results and communicate them accurately to clients without needing to defer every question internally. Experience with LIMS systems and working knowledge of how sample data flows through a testing laboratory from receipt to result release. Familiarity with accreditation or audit environments (ISO 17025, GMP, or equivalent) and an understanding of why compliance standards matter in a quality-regulated context. Experience working alongside or within a structured sales team, with comfort tracking pipeline activity and documenting client interactions in a CRM or equivalent system.Salary Range:
