Job Description

Future Fence Company , founded in 1979, is the largest installer of commercial fence in the state of Michigan and is focused on future growth. Our team of skilled craftsmen build some of the Midwest's most interesting ornamental architectural metal products for bridges, buildings and streetscapes out of a variety of metals including steel, aluminum, stainless and bronze.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Engineer supports the coordination and technical management of construction fencing and architectural metal projects from award through completion. This position assists with project planning, submittals, procurement, and field coordination to ensure work is executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with design and contractual requirements. Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers in reviewing drawings, specifications, and contracts to understand project scope and technical requirements. Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, and change order documentation for assigned projects. Coordinate with Estimating, Fabrication, and Field Operations to ensure materials, shop drawings, and installation details are accurate and delivered on time. Support scheduling activities by tracking project milestones, delivery timelines, and field progress updates. Communicate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical questions or site issues. Assist with quantity take-offs, cost tracking, and procurement of materials. Conduct site visits to monitor installation quality and compliance with project specifications. Maintain organized project documentation including drawings, reports, and correspondence. Participate in project closeout activities, ensuring all required documentation, warranties, and as-builts are completed and submitted. Education:
1 to 3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination; fencing or metals fabrication experience preferred. Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and project documentation. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective project coordination. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Proficiency in project management software (such as Monday.com, MS Project, or similar tools).
