Job Description

Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction, earthmoving, underground utilities, and site development. This individual will oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through completion while partnering closely with field operations, estimating, municipalities, engineers, subcontractors, and ownership. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of underground pipe installation, watermain, storm sewer, grading, and utility infrastructure projects throughout the Metro Detroit market. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct interaction with ownership and the opportunity to help drive continued growth and operational success. Responsibilities Oversee multiple heavy civil construction projects simultaneously throughout Metro Detroit Manage all phases of projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout Lead projects involving: Earthwork and mass grading Underground utilities Watermain installation Storm sewer and sanitary sewer systems Site development and infrastructure improvements Coordinate with municipalities, inspectors, engineers, developers, and MDOT representatives Monitor project schedules, production, safety, quality, and financial performance Work closely with superintendents and field teams to ensure successful project execution Manage subcontractors, vendors, contracts, and procurement activities Review plans, specifications, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation Identify and resolve operational issues proactively Participate in pre-construction planning and strategic project discussions with ownership Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business opportunities Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget Qualifications 10+ years of project management experience within heavy civil construction Strong background in: Earthmoving Underground pipe Underground utilities Watermain Storm sewer Site development Experience managing both residential and commercial projects Prior experience working with MDOT and municipalities required Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and cost controls Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Proven leadership and communication skills Experience working directly with owners, developers, municipalities, and field operations teams Knowledge of the Metro Detroit construction market preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Bonus potential Vehicle allowance/company vehicle Comprehensive benefits package PTO and paid holidays Long-term growth opportunity within a stable and highly respected organization
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
