Add The Project Resource Planning Manager is responsible for proactively managing ATS tower and blade capacity to ensure the safe, efficient, and successful transport of wind components. This role partners closely with Heavy Haul, Specialized Operations, Fleet Management, and Project Management to align drivers, equipment, and project needs. The position also provides leadership oversight for Site Supervisor Liaisons and Wind Field Safety Specialists. What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities Capacity Planning & Operations Manage tower and blade capacity by aligning driver availability, equipment, and project timelines. Partner with Heavy Haul and Specialized Operations to develop driver skills and build future capacity. Participate in project planning meetings to anticipate needs and ensure delivery pace aligns with customer expectations. Coordinate driver and equipment assignments, including selecting drivers, trailers, and managing changes throughout the project lifecycle. Driver & Equipment Strategy Evaluate component specifications, route requirements, and driver qualifications to assess lane risk and ensure safe execution. Recommend qualified drivers and assemble truck and trailer combinations based on safety and experience. Serve as a technical resource to Driver Managers on securement requirements using engineering transport drawings. Ensure proper use of equipment to prevent damage and optimize performance. Safety & Risk Management Collaborate with Route Safety and Safety teams to assess risks and implement mitigation strategies. Oversee field audits and review incidents to identify training or performance improvements. Ensure compliance with field guides, SOPs, and securement standards across all projects. Leadership & Talent Development Lead and develop Wind Field Safety Specialists, including training, scheduling, audits, and performance management. Ensure training programs effectively prepare drivers and escorts for field success. Support ATS leadership expectations by delivering results, building strong teams, and developing talent. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination Partner with Road Service and ATS shops to manage maintenance, repairs, modifications, and availability of Schnabel and blade trailers. Monitor equipment inventory and location to meet project demands. Coordinate MEC requests and securement needs for each project. Work cross-functionally to identify high-failure parts and ensure strategic availability to minimize downtime. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Fleet, Project Management, Sentinel, and Safety teams to ensure alignment across driver planning, steerman assignments, and project execution. Maintain and update ATS field guides for blade and tower operations. Additional Responsibilities Align actions with ATS Mission, Vision, Values, and leadership competencies. Perform duties outside normal hours as needed; limited travel may be required. Complete other duties as assigned. Skillset for
Success:
Bachelor's or associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant operational experience (5+ years preferred). Experience in transportation; wind energy experience preferred. Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations preferred. Technical Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Office 365) and web-based tools. Skilled in using both traditional maps and digital navigation tools (GPS, mobile apps) for route planning and location analysis. Leadership & Industry Experience Proven leadership experience with strengths in performance management, coaching, training, and talent development. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships to effectively manage and prioritize fleet operations. Core Competencies Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening). Analytical and data-driven with effective problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills. Results-oriented with strong time management, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative team player with a flexible approach to varied responsibilities. Compensation & Benefits The total cash comp range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000+ including a base salary range of $65,000 to $95,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
