The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining best-in-class schedule and cost control systems, delivering timely performance reporting, driving forecast accuracy, and partnering with project leadership to mitigate risk and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain project controls processes and procedures for scheduling, cost control, change management, forecasting, and reporting across EPC projects. Lead the creation and maintenance of integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 (or equivalent), including logic, resource and constraint management, baseline control and regular schedule updates. Manage cost control activities including budget development, cost tracking, accruals, earned value management (EVM), cost-to-complete and monthly forecasting.
Own the change management process:
validate change impacts to scope, schedule and cost; maintain approved change registers; and ensure timely incorporation into forecasts and baselines. Prepare and present clear, concise performance reports and project dashboards to project management, commercial teams and senior stakeholders. Identify schedule and cost risks and opportunities, develop mitigation plans and track implementation to resolution. Coordinate closely with self-perform field teams to capture progress, productivity metrics and resource needs and ensure accurate progress measurement. Manage and mentor a project controls team, including planners, schedulers and cost engineers; allocate work, review deliverables and drive staff development. Implement and optimize project controls tools and data flows (Primavera P6, cost management systems, Excel/Power BI), ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems. Support procurement and commercial teams with bid reviews, estimating inputs and contract change impact assessments as needed. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of progressive project controls experience on EPC projects, with demonstrated experience in self-perform environments; 10+ years preferred for large/complex programs. Proven proficiency with Primavera P6 (scheduling development, resource leveling, baseline control) and strong Excel skills; experience with cost management systems and reporting tools (Power BI, Crystal, or similar) preferred. Strong knowledge of earned value management (EVM), cost forecasting, change management and risk management practices. Relevant certifications preferred such asPMP, AACE
(CCM, PSP), or PMI-SP. Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience managing and developing a project controls team and interacting with multi-disciplinary stakeholders. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail, ability to solve complex schedule and cost issues and make data-driven recommendations. Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic EPC project environments, make decisions under pressure and travel to project sites as required.
