We are seeking an experienced Site Utility Project Manager to oversee water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects from award through closeout. Position Summary The Site Utility Project Manager is responsible for the overall financial, operational, and administrative success of underground utility and site development projects. This individual will work closely with superintendents, foremen, estimators, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and owners to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities Project Management Manage multiple site utility and heavy civil projects simultaneously. Review contracts, plans, specifications, and bid documents. Develop project schedules and manpower plans. Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Lead project kickoff meetings. Monitor project budgets, production rates, and profitability. Identify risks and develop mitigation plans. Financial Management Track job costs and production against budget. Review daily reports, quantities installed, and cost reports. Prepare monthly cost projections and job forecasts. Manage change orders and extra work documentation. Approve vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications. Assist accounting with project billing and collections. Maximize project profitability while maintaining client satisfaction. Field Operations Support superintendents and foremen with project execution.
Coordinate utility installation activities including:
Water mains Storm sewer systems Sanitary sewer systems Force mains Lift stations Site grading and earthwork Conduct regular site visits. Resolve field issues and conflicts. Ensure quality control standards are maintained. Client & Stakeholder Relations Serve as primary point of contact for owners, engineers, and municipalities. Attend project meetings and progress updates. Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Coordinate inspections and utility acceptance processes. Ensure timely project closeout documentation. Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements. Coordinate utility locates and permitting requirements. Monitor environmental and regulatory compliance. Qualifications 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction. Experience managing underground utility projects.
Strong understanding of:
Water distribution systems Sanitary sewer systems Storm sewer systems Earthwork operations Site development Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong leadership and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software. Experience with HCSS HeavyJob, HeavyBid, AGTEK, and Sage 100 Contractor preferred.
