We're building a collaborative, high-trust, forward-thinking team, and we're looking for a Furniture Project Manager who wants to help shape that future. The Furniture Project Manager serves as the central point of coordination throughout the project lifecycle, leading communication and collaboration among customers, sales, design, operations, manufacturers, installation teams, and field partners to ensure projects are delivered accurately, professionally, and on time. This role is highly customer-facing and field-oriented. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading projects in active environments, including corporate offices, educational facilities, industrial spaces, healthcare settings, and occupied job sites. They remain calm under pressure , communicate proactively , solve problems quickly, and maintain customer confidence even when challenges arise. While much of this role is field-based, team members are expected to work from the office when not traveling or on-site. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Ownership & Coordination Own projects from order entry through installation and final punch completion Serve as the central point of coordination from order placement through installation and final punch completion Manage multiple commercial furniture projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and responsiveness Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, installation timelines, milestone tracking, and project communication Lead project kickoff meetings and maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders throughout the project Coordinate with sales, design, operations, manufacturers, installation teams, and customers to ensure seamless execution Ensure project details, specifications, finishes, drawings, and installation requirements are accurate and complete Identify project risks, site challenges, scheduling conflicts, and field issues early and work collaboratively to resolve them quickly 2. Customer Experience & Communication Serve as a primary customer contact throughout the execution phase of the project following order placement. Build trust and confidence through professionalism, responsiveness, accountability, and clear communication Maintain a calm, level-headed approach when challenges, delays, or escalations arise Proactively communicate project updates, schedule changes, site concerns, and next steps Conduct site walks, pre-installation meetings, and punch list reviews as needed Create a smooth, organized customer experience while minimizing disruption to active workplaces and learning environments Be comfortable addressing customer concerns directly and professionally, including situations where additional internal coordination may be needed before providing a final answer 3. Installation & Field Coordination Coordinate installation schedules with internal teams, manufacturers, installers, subcontractors, and building management Work collaboratively with the Installation Manager and Lead Installer to ensure project readiness and successful execution Ensure installation teams have complete project information, site details, and scheduling expectations Support and oversee on-site project execution as needed Help resolve field conditions, site challenges, and installation issues in real time Coordinate phased installations, reconfigurations, decommissions, and move management projects when applicable Ensure projects and punch lists are completed accurately and on time 4. Operational Excellence Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, order updates, drawings, freight updates, change requests, and punch lists Monitor order status, shipping timelines, freight updates, product delays, and installation readiness Identify scope concerns, project changes, and potential issues early to help minimize errors and project disruption Continuously look for ways to improve workflows, communication, organization, and overall project execution Help maintain strong collaboration and communication across all departments involved in the customer experience 5. Team, Culture & Brand Building Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture within the Furniture Division Serve as a brand ambassador reflecting OE's purpose of creating Vibrant Solutions for Work and Learning Support strong cross-functional relationships built on accountability, professionalism, urgency, and teamwork Contribute ideas and insights as the division continues building scalable processes, workflows, and best practices What Success Looks Like High customer satisfaction and strong long-term customer relationships Projects and punch lists completed accurately and on time Strong communication and collaboration across teams Trusted relationships with installation teams, operations, customers, and internal stakeholders Minimal escalations through proactive communication and problem-solving Strong ownership mentality and accountability from project kickoff through completion Brings professionalism, urgency, organization, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every project Candidate Profile You might be a great fit if you are: Experienced in project management within commercial furniture, interiors, construction, workplace solutions, or a related industry (3 years preferred) Highly organized and exceptionally detail-oriented A proactive, customer-focused communicator who builds strong relationships, follows through consistently, and takes ownership Calm under pressure and able to maintain professionalism in fast-moving environments Comfortable balancing multiple priorities, timelines, personalities, and field conditions simultaneously A collaborative team player who works effectively across departments and field teams Skilled at problem-solving and navigating challenges with urgency and professionalism Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and project coordination systems Comfortable reviewing floor plans, specifications, and installation drawings Aligned with Office Essentials' values: Authenticity, Tenacity, Being Unboring, and Playing Well With Others Why Office Essentials?
