Job Description The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking experienced IT Project Managers to lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives supporting K-12 education systems. The Project Manager will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensure adherence to PMI standards, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant IT solutions. Key Responsibilities 8+ years of experience in IT Project Management Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables Establish and maintain Project Management standards and best practices Build and manage an Enterprise Project Portfolio and project repository Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and technical requirements Translate stakeholder needs into clear documentation (FRD, FDD, TDD, user stories, etc.) Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices and test documentation Coordinate cross-functional teams (Business, QA, Architects, Developers) Provide project status reporting to senior leadership Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and perform benefit analysis Support documentation for new systems (User Guides, System Guides) Required Skills Strong verbal and written communication with business and technical stakeholders Hands-on experience managing IT projects across the full SDLC Knowledge of PMI standards, processes, and methodologies Experience using tools like Azure DevOps and Git Familiarity with software and database development concepts Experience creating test cases, workflows, diagrams, and process flows Ability to translate business needs into structured technical documentation Strong background in business process mapping and documentation Proven ability to manage enterprise-level, multi-project environments Preferred Skills Experience in K-12 Education IT projects Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies Prior experience supporting a Project Management Office PMP Certification from PMI Equal Opportunity Employer
